Sometimes putting a piece of plywood under the cushions helps, Helen.
I have one large cushion instead of 2 or 3 pillows to sit on and it always gets wrinkled and saggy, do I have to replace the cushion inside the upholstery or can I place something under the one large cushion? It’s a very expensive sleeper sofa in mint condition! 🤔 Any suggestions?
I hope someone can help as I have the same problem and don’t know how to fix it
Hi Helen, Judi and Eliza. A lot of people have this same issue it looks like!! First of all, if you have a zipper in your cushion you have a very easy fix. Open up the cushion and insert a mattress pillow top that you can add to your existing cushion. You can cut them to fit to size or fold them over to get more padding and cut them the size of your cushion. This is great for people on a low budget because you can get a foam mattress pillow top super cheap at discount stores like tJ maxx or ross, Marshalls. If you don't have a zipper, if you have any sewing skills, you could open the seam and do the same thing but then you would have to hand sew it back. I use them in my upholstery projects as well. I used a mattress foam topper in this project that I was re-upholstering because the existing cushions lost their oomph. Here is the post if you are interested...
If you don't care about cost though and you want it to be easier than having to cut foam to size, I did find a product right off amazon.
Good luck everyone!! I hope this helps!
