Can you help me troubleshoot my fiddle leaf plant?

I purchased a fiddle leaf plant and watered it according to the instructions I found on line. It immediately started producing beautiful new leaves and I was so excited and now the are brown and crunchy on the edges. They are still small. Maybe three inches long. What the heck??? Anyone??

I'd love to see an answer to this as well. For some reason I have a knock for outdoor gardening but for the life of me I can't keep them alive in my home.

Fiddles are very finicky. They like to be watered the same amount each week and bright filtered light.

  Watering once a week seems excessive to me. Online it said to water when the soil was dry once inch from the top. That is what I have been doing but I am sure it is not exact each time. It is away from direct heat and drafts. It is in front of an east window with natural light but not filtered. It was growing rapidly! How much water do you give it each week. Do you let the water run out from the bottom. I am willing to water the same amount each week if I know how much to give it.

  I don't personally own a fiddle leaf fig, but from friends who own them, they tell me that watering once/week with the same amount of water helps. It depends on the size of the fiddle leaf fig, but yes, let the water run out of the pot.
