My home is old and sometimes “musty”I do have 3 fur babies, 1 small but the other 2 are large, now they are bathed regularly. I use vinegar, bleach and baking soda to clean. Any suggestions are very welcome, Thanks

    Try charcoal bags.

When you say 'musty', I think of moisture problems. That is where I would begin. Check under all sinks and look for wet spots around the foundation.

  • Do you live in a humid climate? If so, that might be the reason. A dehumidifier will solve the problem. Upholstered furniture harbors odors too. A quick spritz of rubbing alcohol help. I have 11 animals in the house and use vinegar too, no bleach or ammonia though, too toxic and odor alone will kill my birds.

I agree with Theresa. Find and correct the source and then remove all people and fur babies and treat the house with an ozone machine. This is the ONLY treatment that actually destroys mildew, smoke and cooking odors. You can rent them at any tool rental facility.

Thank you all so much, I think I’ll start with some charcoal bags and lightly spraying my upholstered pieces with alcohol. I haven’t found any wet places under sinks etc to make me it could be mildew, but the humidifier could be a good idea as we live in Tennessee. Thanks Again
