Hi Jeri, here are some tips https://cleaning.lovetoknow.com/Cleaning_Mold_Bathroom_Ceiling

Do you have a fan or window in the bathroom - that would help

When doing a clients bathroom with ceiling mold, I use bleach & water in a spray bottle (don stand right underneath, do from an angle) May take more than 1 application. Use your ventilation fan to prevent this. If you repaint, add a mildewcide additive to the paint.

  • Hi Jeri - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Hi, Jeri,

    (1) There are fans, and there are good exhaust fans. If you already have one, it's not adequately removing moisture from your bath. Purchase a very quiet one with auto moisture sensor. That way, you'll never have to worry that the fan wasn't turned on or didn't run, sufficiently.

    (2) In addition to using a good quality bath paint such as Benjamin Moore Aura, in semi gloss finish (harder wearing and made for high humidity and easy cleaning), wipe down walls using a microfiber cloth or squeegee (for glass).

    (3) Use only bath linens that are never exposed to fabric softener.

Felted wool dryer balls do the softening without reducing towel absorption. You can always add a few drops of essential oil to the dryer balls, if you want fragrance. Just remember to let the oils dry before placing them in your dryer, to avoid oil transfer to laundry.
