Putting wallpaper behind or around a stove is not recommended as it is a flammable material.
It will also curl up from steam when boiling water.
I stencil using washable paint might work better.
I like the idea of stenciling paint so it that feels like wallpaper.
Also wallpaper will grab spots of sauces and oil if the pots boil and splatter.
