You don't want try to cover a damp spot. Need to stop the leak. Other stains need to Prime with Kilz primer.
  • Try a vinegar water solution or TSP.

I’ve been researching the best mold killers, as my favorite (HDX) has been discontinued.

Unless it’s a shower stall, then find out why and stop the source of moisture, ASAP.

Mold spores travel through buildings and get re-distributed everywhere through the furnace system.

So buy a MERV12 furnace filter and a dehumidifier for your & the house’s health. For less than $100, one can save their health.

Today, I’m trying out a Concrobrium brand mold killer in the shower and will let you know how it compares to ZEP.

Mold has to be physically removed after killing it. So your drywall may need to be cut out & parched.

I would use a mild-killing primer, like that formula of Kilz. Not all formulas of Kilz kill mold, and the labels explain that.

  • Warm water mixed with a light detergent or soap solution is one method for removing stains. Take a rag, sponge, or even paper towel, and combine the ingredients; then, apply the mixture to the stain and rub. Do not overstrike your paint; instead, rub lightly but firmly. Use a rag or soft sponge for stains that are difficult to remove.

Use Stain Blocker from DIY store.

  • You can use watered down bleach lightly dabbed on the stain as not to soak it. It should magically clear up. Otherwise use a stain blocking primer and repaint.

Hi Parvez, hope this helps you. Use 1 part bleach to 3 parts water, or if you don't want to use bleach, try vinegar, borax or branded products that you can find at a hardware store or home center.

    Hi Parvez, hope this helps.

warm water and a mild detergent or soap mixture. Simply mix the ingredients together, apply them to a rag, sponge or even paper towel, and rub at the stain. Make sure to rub firmly but not enough to damage your paint. For stubborn stains, we recommend using a rag or soft sponge. You can use a microfiber but again be gentle so you don't damage the paint
