How can I upcycle the measuring cups from powdered detergent?

I have 8 (or more) plastic cups with handles (as well as a few of the original Gain boxes) that come with powdered detergent. One year I made Nativity scene dioramas, but I want something different. Any ideas?

How about some cute Christmas Gnomes or a fun Grinch scene.

Michelle, I wish my mind could see what you are thinking. I’ve never done anything Grinch-related, but maybe I could read the book or watch the movie again. Or maybe I could make eight reindeer or make a lighted village for Christmas. Thank you so much. Jewell

I can't exactly picture what those plastic cups looks like, but if they're not too big maybe you could make Christmas ornaments

Hi Jewell, your dioramas some adorable. Did you put a tutorial on hometalk? I would love to see them

    Hi Jewell,

Once upon a time, I saw a craft that used the scoops with the handles made into little wheelbarrows with various objects, glued on. Maybe fun foam circles for wheels or purchased wood circles. Potting soil was added and small bedding plants planted, something like that stays small, like allysums.

I had a bunch of those scoops saved up and planned to make the wheel barrows with my daycare children one year for a Mother's Day gifts. Unfortunately, only a couple of weeks before I went in search of the container of scoops my beloved had decided they were junk that needed to be thrown out and I never got to make them! I needed to switched detergents and started using liquid a short time after that so I didn't collect enough to use that craft idea.

I hope the wheel barrow idea with stir up your creativity! good luck with your projects. Please post when you find your idea!

Cj, the wheelbarrows are a great idea. I can see them for Easter eggs or candy, or plants, of course. I’ve already been thinking about having nine reindeer pulling one cart each, if I can find the right proportioned reindeer at the right price. Hubby and I are old-school, still using powdered Gain with the green scoops with handles. But that Gain is getting harder to find, with more people using liquid and those liquid pouches. Until we give in, those wheelbarrows are not going to waste. Thank you! Jewell
