How do I find a residential storage solution?

My husband is getting transferred from Toronto to San Francisco on reputation. Home shifting is a very difficult and time-consuming Herculean task. It takes lots of effort in shifting a house safely and cost-effectively. For the time being, I'm planning to keep my essentials at a storage unit nearby.I'm planning to contact any self-storage providers in Burlington. What are the formalities to be followed regarding this? Please let me know if you have any idea concerning home and residential storage solutions? It won't be a good idea to rely on a company that offers the cheapest rate. If you have previous experience with such service providers, do share. I don't want to mess it up. Expecting your replies!

Go to the yellow pages (available online) and check out storage facilities for the city you are moving to. You need to talk to the companies yourself. They have different rates for different types of storage and amounts you are going to store as well.

    Hi Cindy,

Just to clarify - what you are asking for is recommendations for storage facilities in Burlington, and for tips from others who have had any experience putting household items in storage?

Cindy....I wish you all the luck in your move and storage and agree that looking in yellow pages or on-line in the the area will be your best beat. I hope you can find what you want. I do know that we live in a small area and locating a storage building/facility is hard to do here because most are full. Best of luck to you!

  • Some moving companies will move out items and store them for you until it’s time to move into the new place.
