My old piano needs to be refinished. I would like to paint it white. What has to be done?

Make sure you get a good cleaner before you start doing anything. The grease from people touching it and the wax from polishing it has built up over the years. If you sand it you will effectively be sanding that gunk into the wood. Nothing will stick to the surface very well. It will look like the paint is sticking but potentially it will start peeling in time. Please post a picture of before and after so we all can see how pretty it is.
