How can I paint whirlpool trim?
I have an older 8 jet kohler whirlpool tub. The Jets are trimmed in a gold color and I want to change them to update bathroom- they sell kits but they are as much as a new tub!! Has anyone ever painted those jet covers or can you give me any other ideas to update the gold- I wanted to go with a brushed silver for new hardware
Thanks!!
Remove the jet covers and tape off the faucet and handles. Then use Rustoleum Brushed Silver spray. Also paint the hardware in the sink, the toilet handle, towel bars, trash can, and other decorative items, including picture frames if you want to. It’s your bathroom. Do what you like. Jewell
Thank you! You are giving me the encouragement I needed to try this!
Definitely tape the jet covers

great info thanks!
Lightly scuff the covers with 220 grit sand paper or a green kitchen scrubby just to remove any shine. Stuff some paper towels in the jets. Tape around the jets and tub with blue painters tape. Use Rustoleum 2X spray paint for metal. Spray several light coats on the trim to get a good bond and smooth finish. Remove the tape and paper towels.
Thank you! I am going to give it a try!
