My oven isn’t like A normal one that I have seen. Smooth on the inside. For some reason mine is rough. Like it is inside out. I have used oven cleaner. Leaves white on the inside & you can’t get it out. Used water, simple green, vinegar, lemon juice everything white is still there. Embarrassed when someone sees me open the door. Help please!!

What brand is it? Did you call the manufacturer?

I remember my mother having the same type interior in an oven she had. It was called a "continuous clean oven". The name didn't fit---it stained and was never clean even after scrubbing. From what I've learned, to clean it, the oven should be emptied of racks and set to 400 degrees F. Leave it turned on for at least 4 hours so that the surface will release the burned on residue that later you just wipe away. Good luck with that.

  • Hi Jackie, this article explains how to clean many kinds of ovens. They describe ovens with a textured surface, perhaps like yours, they're porcelain and supposed to be continuous clean. Perhaps it will help you. I agree with Kelli above, though, I would call the manufacturer or look up the model number online. Most manuals are posted and cleaning instructions are usually included. my oven was a mess I used the tip on here vinegar and baking soda: sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda to make it easier I bought a small spray bottle from dollar tree n filled it with the vinegar. spray the baking soda so that its saturated. the tip says let sit 10 mins I let mine sit for half hr to 45 mins. wipe clean with a sponge and hot water. to get the extra residue off just wipe down with dish soap and hot water and rinse again. I was amazed at how clean my oven was. it works on stove top as well .

Yep. You have a continuous clean oven. In theory every time it's used the residue is supposed to burn up and be wiped away. NOT.

    Try some of these

AFter you do what baxter recommended - I would also use baking soda and sprinkle it in the oven. Spritz it until its wet and let it sit for an hour. Then wipe clean. That will take off and residue of burned on gunk.

If none of the suggestions you've already been given work, try Spray Nine (Home Depot or order online). I use this on rental properties. I spray it on liberally and let it sit over night. Wipe with paper towels and use a plastic putty knife to scrape. If this gets most of it off but leaves a little, repeat the overnight process again. When it is clean, wipe with a soapy cloth and then rinse. I have gotten amazing results with Spray Nine.
