How can I clean out odors from a cat litter box?

I have four cats and two cat litters; I regularly move away the organic 'debris',liquid and solid, but sometimes at night, when windows have been shut, I can smell the scent of urine, not strong but still detectable

That's the price for having kitty babies. Or move litter boxes to basement or garage with a pet door.

My DIL’s mother bought one that plugs in and which cleans itself after every use. We were at her home two hours before we realized there was a cat who lived there. That was a first, since neither my husband nor I care for cats. Clean scent all the time. I wish I knew the brand name but I don’t. Jewell

Hi Mariana, this is Peggy. I know the litter smell. We live in the country and have 10 cats. We have a dog door and 2 barns, so they come and go. I buy the cheapest litter I can find and do not take out just the messy stuff, I dump it all daily. I spray the box with Lysol and fill it with clean litter. Everyone always says they can;t believe we even have cats. Yes they are a lot of work but we love our furry friends like family. Hope this helps

I have had cats for over 40 yrs and what I do is empty all the litter out every 2-3 weeks and scrub the litter boxes with a cleaner then rinse well and let dry- then put in baking soda on bottom of litter box and then add litter

We were forced to switch litter about 8 months ago because the stores where we moved to didn't carry the one we were using. We now have no urine smell from the new one or any stink from fragrances - Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented Clumping Cat Litter
