Yes quickest way would be an old headboard, but you could use a disused gate - timber or metal, in fact anything that is big enough and strong enough and looks the part.
Since we are avid re-cyclers my husband just recently made me a bench out of wood we had used differently. It is successful, but you have to be careful of the "slant" of back to seat.
