How can we repair a door frame that was cut?

Door way enlarged and the trim was cut, first mistake, to fit around the light switch cover. Looking for a cosmetic improvement.

I would either move the switch over beyond the trim or install an electrical box beyond the trim and transfer wiring from the existing box to new box. Then just patch the old box and install new trim.
Move the light switch over, repair where it was, retrim door, paint room...it will look amazing.
