How do I repair a cinder block chimney?
I have a cinder block chimney that has been repaired at least 4 times the past 10 years. I was told I would have to replace it with concrete blocks (the top 4) at a costly expense. Is there any way I can repair the old blocks with out going into a big expense?
Here's a post that might help - https://regx.dgswa.com/html/content/chimney-repair-how-repair-a-cinder-block-chimney
Just a thought, but, does your chimney have a liner? When we converted to gas, our chimney started to deteriorate and we discovered our high efficiency furnace didn't keep moisture from damaging the chimney. We had the top rebuilt, the rest repaired and a stainless steel liner put in. Problem solved.
Thanks. I do have a liner. I think the builder was cutting cost by using cider blocks.
