There are mats to prevent slipping. In the past, to save money and keep rugs in place, I applied hot glue to the back in long "strings" to give it something that would not slip. It doesn't wash that well, though. They also make a paint on type finish that I've seen but never used.

It's called Plasti Dip Super Grip Fabric spray. I've seen it on Amazon of you can't find it elsewhere. That's the one I've used, but I have seen other brands.

    Hi there Penny,

You have to use special carpet stay cloth which is a bit sticky feeling, or Gripper pads or Velcro or Carpet Studs..........The longer the pile the more they will move.

Never thought about velcro. May have to try that. Thanks

Apply the non slip pads to the back of the rug. They are designed to grip the surface they lay on.
