I soak mine in dish soap for 10 minutes and then scrape it off. If it's one of those really tough sticker residues then I use coconut oil. You can find the tutorial on my post here - https://chascrazycreations.com/coconut-oil-hacks-to-the-rescue/

I use the Goo Be Gone, I will spray the jar heavily ( I do one side at a time if label is on back and front) set the jar on paper towels and leave it overnight. Next morning wash it off with hot water and Dawn. I have had to do it more than once on extremely sticky jars but it works. I also used it on tin cans.

I was at Staples awhile back, and was talking to a young couple that had a little beautiful baby. I picked up some Goo Gone Adhesive Remover in a liquid, and in wipes. It advertised that it removes the residue left on from labels and things like that. I thought yeah, right. I have tried so many things over the years, and nothing worked to get it all off. I talked with this young couple, of course first about that beautiful little one. Then asked if they knew anything about this product. They said it worked great. So at that time I had only picked up the wipes. After their recommendation that the product does work, I got the liquid too. I usually pull off the label as much as I can, or soak in soapy warter first. Then am left with all that adhesive residue. I usually spray Goo Gone on it, wait a couple seconds, and wipe with the wipes. Then rinse or wash, depending what it is. It looks like a new container!! Works GREAT!! I am out of wipes right now, so now I just use the spray, and use a paper towel to wipe the residue away, and rinse. It does a WONDERFUL job. I highly recommend this product. I have a hard time throwing away anything. And for years have worked like heck to clean containers to upcycle to use. And a lot of times, couldn't get it off, or it looked worse. Then after working so hard to get whatever container cleaned in all different kind off ways, I would have to throw container away. Wasted container, wasted time and wasted a lot of energy. But this stuff really works!! I have bought it at Staples and at Wal Mart in the cleaning product isle. And I just ordered a bottle from Amazon. Hope this helps. Try it, you won't believe how well it works, and where it has been all these years!! GREAT PRODUCT!! GOO Gone!!!!
