Walmart sells insect sticky pads. Catches anything in sight, moths, spiders thousand leggers beetles etc. they are 4 for a dollar. Put on floor where you see insects most and they walk across the sticky part and can't get back off. You CANNOT use if you have pets as these things are really sticky. They are meant to be set up like a little "tent" but I just lay them flat on the floor. If you have furniture that your pets can't get under or go near the stick pads, or use under sinks, garages or basements where the pets can't get stuck to them then do so. It helped me a lot. Also Home Depot makes a spray specifically for spiders you can do window edges and foundations outside.
i use Home Defense in fall and spring. i spray it on the base of floor/wall all around and around windows and doors. i'm arachnophobic so i have to prevent ahead of time. Also had a camper in the woods and friend sprayed for me and i had no problems.
Place HEDGE APPLES around the inside of your house. This detours the little critters. I lay them on plastic bags in my basement and it has helped a great deal.
