I agree with Rymea. You can try doing it yourself, but bed bugs are so small that it's very hard to find them all. That's why a pro is better. If you want to try yourself, vacuuming and Diatomaceous earth can help if none of them are missed and the right amount is used. There are several other steps too. Hot Shot is best I've found. Start from top of wall and spray downward. Get a roll of wide, clear tape like they use for packing. Place tape so it overlaps sides of switch plates and outlets. Do outlets and switches in rooms that share a wall with the treated area. Get zip up bags for mattress and springs(Target, Amazon, Wal Mart).
Wash ALL bedding, clothing, pillows in very hot water and dry on hot. Take any non washables to dry cleaner before you start and pick up after you finish. Watch for any stragglers.
