How can I refinish a plastic countertop on a kitchen island?

My son has a kitchen island that has a wood look but I’m sure some sort of plastic top that has wear and tear. Any idea how to refinish it? Thanks!

Hi Pam, paint is always an option. They make specific painting kits just for laminate counter tops with great instructions. You could consider covering it with real butcher block or wood of some kind too.

Cover it with Formica, Stone, Ceramic tiles, Tempered Glass or maybe Contact!
you could try using chalk paint and sealing it with polycrylic
