Should I tile or paint this ledge?

once sanded, my idea is to try to paint it and would like to know if it’s a good idea to put tiles on the front only.
Hi there, decorative tiles to go with your decor would definitely look nice there and it will also add a bit of toughness to those corners too!
I’m not sure about tiles. I think you might find it looks nicer with painted trim. Easier too!
I agree with Frugal. I think It would look good with a wooden top. Cut the wood the exact size of the top. Then finish the sides of the wood with the same baseboard trim you have turned upside down.
That is where it will be abused, bumped, etc. Tiles could easily be bumped off. I would just paint it. I like the idea of topping it with wood board and trim underneath. Would add some protection. I hope you used metal corners.
