How can I create a lighter finish on cultured marble countertops?

Our home has a medium dark brown color counter tops. Is there a product that can be applied to lighten and brighten their appearance that is durable?

Being a type of plastic, I would look at Rustoleum’s kits for “painting” plastic laminate (Formica).
I suspect they are epoxy-based.
With any coating system, prep work and following the directions to a T are critical.
