6 Ways to Instantly Get Rid of Fruit Flies & Gnats at Home

Hi Peggy,
If these gnats/fruit flies are buzzing you, wash all produce as you bring it into the house, the eggs are on it and will hatch soon after, then refrigerate the fruit after the wash-except bananas-keep at room
temperature. Next clean you kitchen sink drain with 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup white vinegar, when the fizzing stops, rinse well with hot water. For the flying ones, I use a sticky pad from Walmart-the ones for catching mice, just peel off the plastic cover and lay flat. Put a small piece of fruit, about the size of a dime in the center of the pad. The pests will land on it to never bother you again.
Best to you.
The gnats are coming from the soil in your plants and every time you water them they tend to come up out of the soil. Water the plants with a bit of soap mixed in water and cover the surface of the soil or purchase the fungus gnat powder from your gardening store.
I had a terrible gnat problem and the vinegar traps worked perfectly! Simply place a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, a few drops of dish soap, and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and stir. Set your bowl in an area where gnats are prevalent, such as your kitchen or bathroom. This took care of my problem in just a couple of days!
Hello Sue, hope this helps you. It's a wonderful link for all gnat problems!
