- place 2 concrete blocks holes up on a stable surface, 3 if support needed in center (not often). - place timbers across outside edges of blocks with all width of each timber completely on block. small rocks or pebbles in holes first to help drain water from 2x4' ends.

Hi Janet: You could use some concrete blocks and 2 x 10 x whatever length you want to make a shelf like unit and stack the wood on that. If the shelving is longer than 8 feet, then I'd put some blocks in the middle for support. You want to keep the wood off of the ground because varmints like to get under there and make homes. And, be sure to use a tarp to keep the wood dry :) Good luck
