The buttons buckled and popped off the hardened glue?

What type of buttons did you use - flat, or curved?

Posting a picture of the results would help illustrate the problem.

i used flat buttons only but before the glue was dry quite a few were buckling and bulging and it looked terrible. I watched the video prior to doing this.

I went to work on this project again, and i after watching the video again, i see where i made my mistake: after applying the glue to the balloon and allowing in to dry, i misapplied the buttons. A little layer of Mod Podge was applied to the balloon and the buttons were quickly put on. Then AFTER the buttons were on, and dried, the regular amount of Mod Podge was applied to the outside of the buttons. I kept trying to apply the Mod Podge to each button, and making it touch each other at the same time. SO......time for round 2. But, I really wanna make the layered green bowl seen in the first picture: that layered effect is sharp!
