How do I remove residue from the bottom of frying pans?

    Hi Carol: This is so easy, unless you have those pans with the cutout circles on them, and they are horrible, but not impossible, to clean. What I use is a paste of vinegar and cream of tartar (the dry stuff). Make a paste and put it on the gunk. Let it sit for about 15 or 20 seconds and then scrape off with a plastic putty knife or one of those plastic scrubbies, or a stiff brush for crevices. You may have to do it a couple of times if the gunk is thick, but usually not.There is no smell and it is environmentally safe. Good luck.

    Bar Keepers Friend and a wet scrubbing pad works great.

    Hello. Normally I soak pan or pot with dawn and water. Followed by a gentle scraping with an expired gift card. The gift cards is firm and pliable and helps to remove the resistant residual residue.
