You can use jute to wrap around. Sticking it in place with hot glue!

Hi! You can paint over the leaves with a chalk based or mineral based paint! Add a little dark wax to make it look antiqued. :) A white or cream color would be pretty.

The mirror is flat and lacks colour. What is trendy and current now in home decor is texture and dimension.

I would suggest to first spray paint the background with a neutral color such as gold or copper to cover the old pattern. Then glue strips of lightweight wood (Popsicle sticks , tongue depressors, clothes pins, square dowels) radiating out from the centre. This style is commonly known as a starburst pattern.

Here are four mirrors for inspiration.

You can also spray paint the existing frame with metallic paint.

A feather boa glued around the mirror provides some fun impact for a feminine or girlish touch to a bedroom or bathroom.

    Hello there,

Many ways, Paint it, /wallpaper it, Decoupage with books or Newsprint or Fabric, or make it into a sun ray mirror, by sticking sticks all around and painting it gold!
