Don’t do it. Mold. Hard to paint. Hard to patch. Don’t.
    • My house is stucco and so is my mom's. Her house was built in the mid 20's and never ever a mold problem. Still in excellent shape 90+ years later, and requires only minimal maintenance. No harder to paint than any other home. Not sure where you live, but stucco is the norm in my area.

I've seen the damage done if water gets in. Plus necessary repairs tend to be visible.

  • Living in Southern CA, most of the homes have stucco siding. Betsy provided excellent links. Lasts for decades and more. My mom's house was built in the mid 20's and still looks fantastic with minimal maintenance. An excellent option if you live in the right climate. That being said, it should be applied by the pros as it is a process and if not installed properly it will be a nightmare to fix.
