How do I make a dragonfly out of ceiling fan blades?

There was a cute DIY on here in the past to make a dragonfly out of ceiling fan blades painted and attached to stairway spindle. There was wire that was wound up on the ends for antenna. My question is what was used to hang these on a wood fence?I would appreciate an answer from whoever knows about this yard art idea as I'm making them for Christmas presents.Thank you so much.

In the comments on that piece, the creator said this when asked how she mounted it: "I used 2 1/2 inch screws. I used two of them to mount the dragonfly on the fence."

That's it. So you put the screw through 2 of the wings and screwed it on the fence? Your dragonfly is gorgeous.
I've been thinking I need to put a good layer of varnish on the wings . It's very humid where I live and a normal ceiling fan when attached to a patio ceiling , the blades get droopy over time from the moisture in the air.
