How can I seal a peel-and-stick tile floor?

Is there any product I can use to seal my peel and stick tile floor? I just spent 3 full days laying peel and stick tiles on my kitchen floor. It looks great right now but I'm afraid it won't last.

You should probably check the instructions that came with your flooring or the manufacturer so you can seal the floor properly if it needs to be sealed at all. I have peel and stick tiles in my kitchen and dining room. They have been down for about 7 years. They still look fabulous and the only reason I would change them is because I want something new and different! They were tiles that you could grout but the grout stays clean. I also have peel and stick tiles in my walk-in closet-a product that was less expensive-and of course gets much less traffic-but they have also worn well and still look like new. I had peel and stick tiles in my bathroom which were more textured and a white color. They were not groutable tiles and the issue I had that after about 6 years I had dirty lines where the tiles met each other. I used to scrub that clean with a scrub brush and then apply a floor wax to keep it cleaner longer. I eventually switched to a vinyl plank flooring when we remodeled the bathroom.

Check manufacturer. Usually you shouldn't apply anything to surface or it could peel and yellow plus void warranty.
  • Hi, Alex!

I would advise against sealing a peel and stick floor... That type of floor is not made for a sealer and, in my opinion, doing so would not keep the floor from wearing. I used the cheapest peel and stick flooring I could afford in my kids' bathroom almost 10 years ago and it is still holding up beautifully. I hope this helps!
