I love little projects like this because I get to take something so simple and turn it into cute decor for my home.

I used a thick burlap rope and hot glued each strand as I wrapped them around. This will be the base of the basket.

Once you reach the width your comfortable with start working your way up.

Then continue this process until you reach the height you want.

Ok so this part is where it all went South lol I decided I wanted a two toned basket and spray painted half of it. I did not like the outcome as much as I'd hoped, the burlap soaked in the paint and made it stringy. I already ordered white rope and will cover it later 😉 so I recommend buying white rope instead of painting it.

Next I glued handles on each side

Then I tied two white tassels on one of the handles.

And your all done. It's simple, but can totally make a statement.

Love this idea, but live on a strict budget. Where did you get the rope? And how much?

I like the rustic effect of the white spray paint on the natural rope, it suits the rope better than using two different ropes. Looks perfect to me!

I agree with Bianca, it looks perfect as is. The addition of the two tassels is the perfect finishing touch❤️
