Brr! Drafty windows- how to cut the draft?
I have 3 sets of windows configured like this...very drafty, How to you winterize them? There is nothing in the corner to stick tape to. Thank you
Hello Elaine! You can use shrink plastic interior window kits on your windows to eliminate drafts and save heating energy! I use them every year because I live in a very cold climate! Trust me they are very helpful when the north winter wind is blowing hard. They also keep my windows from forming condensation and moisture on any wood surfaces so I don't have to worry about my windows-which are wood on the interior--from rotting over time.
If you have to work on your windows and doors on the exterior you might be able to use rope caulking rather than caulking in a tube. You can also buy weatherizing foam strips that are self adhesive.

If the draft is coming in from around a frame or where the door meets the floor you could try some rubber weather stripping. We just added that a few days ago around our front door. Last fall we put a door sweep on the inside of a door on the patio that leads outside. Got it at amazon and that completely stopped the cold air from pouring in at the bottom of the door. This is all fairly inexpensive and can be installed in a few minutes.
You can add foam weather stripping that is sticky tape on one side.
