  • Ii was given a freestanding cabinet with a nice countertop on it. The only problem is their child scribbled on it with colored markers (I don't know what kind but it doesn't wash off.) The cabinet is natural wood and I want to paint it. How do I get the scribblings off? Can I just paint over it? I wanted to paint it white but may have to go with another color because of the marks.

I have that stripper. Should it be done outdoors? I assume it’s ok to do in a garage as long as the door is open. After stripping, what do you use to clean off residue? There was no mention in the video. Shouldn’t you sand in the direction of the grain instead all over in circular motions?

The video was definitely informative-especially for a first-timer. However, it was incomplete and left us hanging at the end. After it’s sanded properly, what are the next steps? All the questions above are my questions too.

  • I've got two dressers I need to do this to. One is VERY old and someone who had it before my great grandma, painted it red. Now that's peeling off in places and it just doesn't look good anymore. It really does not go with the vibe of the room. Thanks for sharing!

I don't think this video was thorough enough for anyone who really had never stripped furniture before. There are useful tips that could have been given. Also, just my opinion but if the first time I had stripped a piece of furniture it was suggested I do it with a little razor blade, it would have been the last time also.
