Use two tension rods and a curtain panel with hems on each end to slide the tension rods into.
Do you want a skylight shade that you can manipulate open and closed? We got one from budget blinds. They do work great. We use a pole with a hook to open and close them for our family room. Unfortunately they are much more expensive blinds though.
I had a hugh skylight in my NYC loft.... I got some heavy nylon fabric 60" wide and lots of cording and some small plastic rings (much like making a roman shade). I created a sewn channel at each end and in the middle since it was about 10' long. We installed some small eyehooks along the skylight frame for the cord to go through horizontally ( you could also do a run of wooden moulding at the top for it to fit tightly at the top) at the top and on each side at the bottom. The cords were then knotted together towards the botton and fed down the wall to a cleat to hold in the closed or open position
