How do I make a Christmas tree topper for a tabletop tree?

I need a very small tree topper for a small table tree that is gold in color. Any ideas?

Wired gold ribbon from the $ store is inexpensive and easy to tie on to the top into a large bow.
Easy to store away for next year also.
I would buy one of the many lightweight ornaments (stars, bells, etc) from Dollar Tree...the right size and price for a mini tree topper.

A small angel (Dollar Tree) to have it's skirt fit over the top of the tree. You can add color or glitter to match your decor.
