I keep a box of baking soda on shelf. They sell ones specifically. For that. Front comes off and it is screened to allow absorbsion.

You might want to check the condensate drain. It can get slimy and hold odors. Usually it is located under and behind the crisper drawers so you will need to remove them first. I use a paper towel twisted into a long skinny piece to get down in the drain. Also, some fridges have a condensate drain pan underneath. This is important to clean regularly as it can harbor legionnaires.

Hi Julie. I'm Cindy. This is the time of year to make space in your refrigerator for all the holiday dishes. You can use baking sodas to get rid of unwanted odors. You can also put a plate of charcoal (yes, charcoal that you grill with) in your fridge to absorb odors. I agree with Laura about cleaning areas that never get much attention. Happy Holidays Julie.

Remove everything and wipe down with white cleaning vinegar. Place 2 - 3 containers of baking soda to absorb odors..

  • If its really bad take everything out and unplug it. Give it a deep clean and add baking soda

Be sure to check the tray under the frig if it has one and clean it out. I sometimes also spray the frig with Frebreeze if the baking soda doesn't do the trick.
