You can use a small baggie filled part way with white vinegar. Submerge your shower head in the vinegar and wrap a rubber band around it to keep it in place. Let sit for an hour or so, then rinse with hot water.
In addition to Laura's instructions, I would run my finger over each of the jets and "wiggle" them to make sure all deposits are broken and loose.

How to Clean a Showerhead
put about a cup of vinegar into a sandwich bag and place it over the shower head to soak. Keep it in place with painter's tape or a rubber band. Leave it for 30 minutes and then use an old tooth brush to scrub away the water deposits. I learned this trick from my 86 year old mom who used it when I was growing up.
Remove the shower head and soak it in 50/50 mixture of bleach and water. If you can't remove it, raise a small bowl of this mixture over it and hold it there for a few minutes. This should loosen the dirt/grime.
