Christmas bows, pinecones, small snowmen or elves, etc. can be secured to the base, using ties or ribbon.
I need a picture to follow...thanks!
Add a pretty bow or ribbon and swap the candles for the kind that look like peppermint sticks.
Add a big bow and wrap the candlesticks with some cedar boughs.
I hope this helps (I too love a picture to visualize the end result) https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/502995852129946332/
Paint them gold, add some rhinestone accents and tie a pretty ribbon around the candle.
Hi Debra, you could find some faux holly or faux pine branches and add a plaid bow, or join 3 ornaments together for each of your beautiful candlesticks. Join silver bells available at DollarTree together in sets of three and attach with a pretty ribbon bow. The pic below will give you some inspiration, I hope. I wouldn't paint the candlesticks, yours are beautifully classic as is. It won't take much to make them as festive as you like. Have fun!
How large are the bottoms of the candlesticks?
Might they fit inside large glass jars?
If so, then fill the jars with candies, as shown below.
Or wrap cardboard tube covers around them and knit some 'sweaters'.
I'd use wire ribbon to tie a lovely bow just below the candle. You can add a sprig of greenery as well.
You can spray paint them white and use sandpaper to distress them so the dark shows through.

Add some mini wreaths to the plate or make a small arrangement there ..check that pin https://www.pinterest.com/pin/678495500096294724/
You could paint them a different color with spray paint, or leave them as they are and use Christmas picks to add them to the base of your candles or get holiday candle rings to add to them.
