I don't want to use my old lamp shades for a lamp. Any ideas on what I can turn them into?

My shower stall is dark and I do not have an electric light in that part of ceiling. How can I add a light that is non-electric over the ceiling of the stall?
It came with a 10" downrod, but my 12' ceiling needs a 36" downrod. The wires are too short to go all the way through the 36" extension.
I would like to get some outside (outdoor) lighting that doesn't look like a lantern. Any ideas?
