When we bought a new larger tree, I asked my husband to cut off the branches and save them. I saw small trees in the craft store for sale and thought I can make them from the tree branches.

A tree branch

Here I was taking the branches of different sizes out to make my mini tree.

Adding decorations

Here you will need your glue gun to glue on the pine cones to the tree.

Silk flowers and pine cones.

Buy what you want to decorate with from a craft store or dollars store.

Beads and more

Some of the decorations I bought

Wire cuter

You will need a wire cuter to cut the branches the sizes you want.

Fanning the branches

Prepare the tree, fan out the branches before you add decorations. Notice the Burlap holding the branches. The burlap has small stones to weight the bottom and keep the branches from falling. Rope is wrapped around the burlap to keep the burlap in place.

Adding pine cones

Here you see three pine cones hot glued into place

Add some color to the tree

As I glued the pine cones on the tree, I used different colors

The finished tree

Here you see the finished tree all for a couple of dollars. You can't see the beads. Sorry about that.

A cute project to make with the top of an old Christmas tree that has seen its better days. These make great table top decorations or can be placed around the fireplace or put them on the porch or in the yard to give the entry to your home a festive glow with bright white lights added to them. Love this idea.
