I use TomKat rat poison in the little bags, and they just eat them open and die. Another way to keep them out is fill all the holes they may be getting in with steel wool, they won't chew through it.
Harry....If animals (pets) can't get under your house use dCON and peanut butter. Make them into balls and toss under the house.
