Use vinegar.
krud cutter would probably do it! Home Depot or Lowes carries it.
I would recommend Gp66 degreaser for this job. Saturate and let sit for a few minutes, then wipe away. You may have to do this several times.
Totally Awesome Degreaser, not diluted.
I use TSP substitute in a spray bottle mixed with water and a rag. Cleans grease right off with zero effort.

I have used Goo Gone and a microfiber cloth or magic eraser with success. Let the Goo Gone sit for a few minutes.
Try Steam Cleaner, Stainless Steel Cleaner, Bicarbinate of Soda and Vinegar. Warning, It is going to be a messy job, so cover under the hood with maybe an old towel...
Hi Cricket: That's my car's name :) What I use is a 50/50 mix of vinegar and warm water and a dash of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Mix this up and put it into a spray bottle, or just into a pot or bowl, wet the area with this mixture and scrub with a small brush like a veggie brush. If the grease buildup is heavy, you may have to do it a couple of times, but this should do it. Then, put a coat of wax, like car wax, on it to keep it slick.
