Want a place to store your blankets during those cold winter months? I have a simple DIY project made with 2x4s that will solve your problem and look great in your living room.

Be sure to watch the video to see exactly how I made this blanket ladder.

I started with a couple 2x4 pieces of wood. These are inexpensive and so easy to work with.

Specifically I used the following.

  • 2×4 cut as follows; 2 pieces at 6 feet and 4 pieces at 18 inches
  • 2.5 inch screws
  • Drill
  • Paint

Lay out the 2x4s and evenly space the smaller pieces of wood to create a ladder. Measure carefully so your ladder rungs are spaced appropriately.

Then use a drill and long screws to attach the rungs to the ladder.

Once the ladder is assembled you can paint it whatever color works with your decor. You could also stain this wood. I chose a white paint for my blanket ladder.

Then load up those blankets and you are done!

This is an easy building project and so functional. You can hang all your cozy blankets and have them right where you need them when the weather gets chilly.
