How to Make a Christmas Ornament From Mini Cards
Merry Christmas, guys! I like to make a few handmade Christmas Ornaments with my kids, every year. How about you? It's just another way to add fun, creativity, and family time together during the holidays, right?!
And, I come up with a new DIY Christmas Ornament to share on my blog, every year too. This year's is a fun and easy Christmas Ornament made from Mini Cards, Hot Glue and Christmas Twine. If you use a low heat glue gun, little kids can definitely do this too. Be sure to watch the video to see how quick and easy it is to make this DIY Ornament. 
I used mini Christmas Cards (about 3" square) for this project. You could also use Christmas Card Stock or even Christmas Wrapping Paper folded over. You just want something kinda thick that will hold itself straight.
I used Christmas Twine to make a little tassel. You can see the steps for making the tassel in the video. It's pretty easy, I think, after you watch someone else do it. But, you basically wrap a few feet of twine around 3 fingers to create a loop of twine. Then tie that loop with 10" of twine. That length will connect to the ornament. Then wrap more twine about 1/3rd down on the tassel. Hold that in place with hot glue (in photo) or tie it off. Then cut through the bottom loops on the tassel. That's it.
Set the tassel aside while you glue the cards together. I used 12 cards. First, I glued the cards shut, then ran a bead of hot glue along one edge of a card and quickly stuck another to it. Keep the outside edge of the cards about an inch apart. You're creating an open pie shape.
Do this with all of the cards. But, before adding the last card, glue the twine tassel in place. Make sure the tassel is on the bottom and to flip down the top of the twine to create a 3" hoop for hanging the ornament.
Optional: I glued 2 wooden stars at the top for an extra touch of fun.
