How can I deter cats from coming into my yard?

Hi. Iv read one of your tips that suggests using shredded soap to deter deer,rabbits etc.. would it be safe to use against cats?.

Moth balls in your yard will deter cats and dogs both. They evaporate so they do not get in the water system, but you need to know if there are small children in your neighborhood that might have access to your yard if it is not fenced.
Get a motion activated water sprayer connected to a hose. Cats and water do not mix well.
