How do you take care of indoor plants in the winter?

Hi Twiggy, the plant you have looks like "mother-in-laws tongue" or snake plant. They are easy to maintain and yours looks extremely healthy. Just place it in an area that gets good light and water when the soil feels dry, perhaps once a week or 10 days. I have a large snake plant and when/if the tips get brown, I trim them into an inverted V so it blends in with the rest of the plant.

Same as you do for the rest of the year. Move to a location where they receive enough light. Stick your finger in the pot about 2" deep. If dry, give it some water. If moist, check again in a few days. Houseplants are not the same as plants outside, they need to be tended to year round.

I actually keep my MIL's tongue plant outside. I cover it with a sheet when the temps fall below 35. They come back really great each year. I started with one plant now have 5.

I bring my potted plants inside in the fall because they would die. It gets cold, snowy, sleety in Maine. I put them near windows during daylight and later in the day turn lights on them when I close the curtains. I water when the soil feels dry. Different rules for different parts of our big country!

You've a got "mother-in-laws tongue" (snake plant). They are extremely hardy and can do alright even if you forget about it. Water when water is dry up to the first knuckle. I would suggest repotting the plant as he's too far down in the pot without much soil.

You can keep your plants growing with a full spectrum light bulbs, I use timers to give the plants a full 8 hours of light,
