How can I clean a strong odor out of a leather couch?

OdoBan is the best deodorizing cleaners I've ever used. It is also a disinfectant. Test in a hidden spot to make sure it doesn't damage the finish but I've never had it damage anything.

Hi Burt, I would first place either small open containers of baking soda beneath your leather sofa. Another possibility is to place a few charcoal bbq briquettes beneath the sofa to absorb odors.

I would sprinkle 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax all over it and let sit for a few hours, then vacuum up.

Some leathers tanned outside the US, are tanned with urine and the odor can be quite pungent. You could try Room Shocker that you can get at Home Depot, Lowes or Amazon.

A good leather cleaner from the auto store will work. They use it on used cars to take out cigarette smoke.

Liberally sprinkle baking soda on the couch. Let it sit for an hour or two. Then vacuum. You can also do this on the underside.

If the leather couch is new, consult the store where you bought it from and see what they can do to remedy this situation, otherwise you may void any warranty you have. If not new, then any of the above should work, although I would be hesitant to put anything on the leather other than a leather cleaner/conditioner after testing it in a small area where it is unnoticed. Best to you.

You could also try using some Febreze on it.
