The first possibility to look into when you find a blank thermostat screen is to check if the unit needs to have its batteries changed. Not all thermostats use batteries; many are wired into the electrical system of the house. If you have a unit that uses battery power, remove the front plate from the wall plate and change the batteries to see if this brings the thermostat back to life again.
If the thermostat runs from the house’s electrical system, check on the circuit breakers. One of them might have tripped and cut off the power the thermostat. Reset the breaker. If this doesn’t work, then the best course of action is to have the thermostat replaced.
sometimes it needs a new battery
Hi Van: What I've done is to run a dollar bill between the connections. That cleans out any dust that may have accumulated. But, my first thought was the batteries:)
It also wouldn't hurt to check with the manufacturer of the thermostat for some troubleshooting advice... I hope this helps!
It sounds like you need to have your thermostat replaced, Van.
if it has a battery check that first and you can buy inexpensive thermostats at any hardware big box store
Thank you for all of your help & answer.
