Lemon and Baking Soda Polish

Combine the juice of half a lemon with a teaspoon of baking soda and stir until it becomes a paste.
Apply the paste with a soft cloth.
If the tarnish is heavy, let the piece sit with the paste on it for 30 minutes.
Rinse and dry. Repeat if necessary

I have a brass bed and I never have to clean it because just throwing the bed clothes down before making, must 'dust' the bed! The headboard is swathed in the bed curtains. But I would use a cleaner just for brass, rather than something made for another purpose. I would also for an item not displayed too often put in a cabinet to protect from discoloring. You could also have a lacquer coating put on them to prevent future tarnishing.
