Are casement windows are suitable for living room?

Since there are so many different styles and sizes, I don't see why they wouldn't be suitable.

Yes you can use casement windows in your living room. They will open out so if you have a deck right outside your living room windows you can't place any outside furniture close to the windows. Casement windows also deflect some of the air flow/movement from outside in. You will get better air movement and outside breeeze with double hung windows.

Yes they are. I have bay windows in my kitchen and living room. Both have casement windows. They open out and are really convenient. No need to squeeze around blinds, curtains. furnishings. One crank to open and close them.

Casements are a nice alternative. They do require a little more maintenance of the crank mechanism and seasonal cleaning. They are also a little harder to paint. They do not control air flow quite as well, but none of this should prevent you from installing them, just some things to consider.

Actually they control air flow very well if you buy them with the open sash directed to funnel the air into the window, like a sail.

Meaning you have to order them right handed or left handed to work with your prevailing winds.

As you may have observed cranking mechanisms on windows (casements, awning & hopper) are more $ than sliding, single & double hung.

Therefore make sure you get a very long warranty on the cranking mechanism.
